We rally for about four days at the end of the third week of the month, normally Wednesday to Sunday morning. We have around forty families in our group with usual attendance at our rallies, ranging from 12-20 coaches. Our rally activities include telling tall tales, eating out, shopping, antiquing, sightseeing, and playing games (mainly Fast Track and hand and Food) in the evening. We also have a few who enjoy sitting around the campfire after dinner (even in the summer months). Our rally agenda may include a cookout or potluck supper, and it usually has open periods so you may wander off at your own leisure to investigate the area. Since most of our rallies are in the north Georgia area, we get to enjoy springtime in the mountains. SOI MOTORHOME CLUB
DESCRIPTION

The SOI Motorhome Club, formerly called Sportscoach Owners International, has been in existence since 1972. We were a factory club, until the manufacturer was moved to Elkhart Indiana. The club members decided to keep the club in California and change the name to the SOI Motorhome Club. Our membership is open to anyone within FMCA's rules of class A or class C motorhomes. We have clubs throughout the United States and each of them is independent in putting on their club rallies. We are a social club; thus, we do not deal with repairs, problems, or anything to do with motorhome services. Instead, we say we are in the people business. Our members enjoy the company of each other and in the past, we have toured in caravans all over North America and Canada. We also have toured parts of Mexico, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia under the leadership of Scott Brady. We even had an exploratory trip to South America. At this point we are looking for members who have a destination in mind and want friends to come with them. With this in mind, a caravan can be formed, and a new adventure begins. We are all volunteers and put out a newsletter when it is needed. We have FMCA chapter president, Cal Landreth, who attends all of the FMCA events for us. Our main rally has been the Pasadena Rose Parade Rally that takes place culminating at the end of the year and bringing in the New Year with the Rose Parade on January 1 of each year. In 2010, we are celebrating our 30th anniversary of putting on this rally. For updates visit our website at www.soiclub.com, or call our club president, Ed Waldheim, (cell) 760- 373-0033 or (office) 800-423-2639. Ext 215.

Rallies are usually held within a 250 mile radius of Houston or San Antonio, although we do travel out of state on occasion. Club membership is very healthy as we maintain between 80-100 member coaches. At this time, we only accept self-contained, motorized coaches. We have a mix of retirees and those who are still involved in the working world. A typical rally will number 20-40 participants, thereby allowing all members to socialize and become better acquainted. We are an active group of people who enjoy visiting with each other, sight-seeing and shopping the local areas. After dinner activities include playing games and visiting. We also share our knowledge of RV maintenance/troubleshooting, and ideas for enjoying the RV lifestyle. Food is a big part of each rally with an Attitude Adjustment time preceding each evening meal. The meals include Thursday evening, Friday lunch, usually at an area restaurant, Friday evening, and Saturday breakfast and dinner. Many rally attendees arrive early and enjoy "mini-rallies" by getting together each evening for Fun, Fellowship and Food (our unofficial motto). We invite you to drop by for a visit if you are passing through an area where we have a scheduled rally. Rally dates and contact information are listed in the Association Calendar section of the magazine and on the FMCA website.

WESTERN RESERVE BUCKEYES

We are a friendly group of about 20 motorhome owners who love being outdoors and camping in new places. We meet once a month (May-October) with a year-end dinner together in November at a local restaurant. When we get together, we have a lot of fun and laughs. WE ARE A MOTORHOME ONLY CHAPTER. Check out the magazine and FMCA's online rally calendar for a list of our campouts, more detail and contact information.
